We've only completed the first day of camp, and all of our campers came in smiling and left smiling. Along with the summer camp rules, we also made 3 rules for our individual group: 1) be an includer not an excluder, 2) hand and body stays to ourselves and 3) use eyes and ears to follow every direction. If there are to be any consequences, it would be 1) verbal warning, 2) sit out for 5 minutes and 3) further sit out time or go and talk to senior staff. But I’m sure there will not be a lot of disciplinary issues since this group of first graders are very well-behaved!
Our schedule for each day is very fun, and the kids seem to think so too! Most days we have arts and crafts in which each camper does an exciting craft and is able to bring it home. Also, we have several blocks outside in which we play a game, i.e. fishy-fishy, tag, red-light green light... and the children love free time on the jungle gym! Too keep cool we go to the computer lab, game room and activity room. We go to project enrichment and do cool experiments, in which all the kids seem to really enjoy themselves!
All the kids have been great and have very positive attitudes. The kids always participate, and help each other out if one needs help. They haven’t misbehaved, and always say there please's and thank you's.
