Dear Parents,
As our last day comes to a close, I wish to thank you all for being a part of another successful summer. We had our largest participation numbers ever, and I truly appreciate your continued support of our summer program! I enjoyed seeing so many returning campers and CITs from previous years as well as all our new faces this summer! We work hard at trying to offer the best quality experience for your children and I hope you feel we accomplished that goal! I want to thank our tremendous staff for all their hard work and a special thank you to our amazing Assistant Directiors - Lisa Stevens and Annie Kalashian! I hope you all enjoy the remainder of summer and hope to see you back in 2015! Best Regards, Matthew Castonguay Director ![]() Our last week of camp at GSRP has been filled with so many fun and exciting activities! On Monday, group 6A had a busy day which included SkyZone in the morning and a reptile presentation in the afternoon! At SkyZone, the campers loved jumping on all of the trampolines and playing dodgeball! During the reptile presentation, we saw so many crazy creatures, including the alligator which all the campers were allowed to hold! On Tuesday, both the counselors and campers of Group 6A participated in the annual Campers vs Counselors basketball game! The energetic crowd and great players made the game so much fun. On Wednesday, our day was again packed with fun activities. In the morning, we had the annual end of summer awards ceremony at GSRP where many campers won great awards. In the afternoon, the campers enjoyed a hot lunch meal and a movie at Par 97. On Thursday, Group 6A had so much fun at the Crane's Beach field trip, which included swimming in the ocean, playing in the sand and playing wiffle ball. We were lucky enough to have great weather for a perfect beach day! On Friday, we had a very busy day with the talent show in the morning and then a GSRP barbeque in the afternoon! We want to thank all of the campers of 6A for making this summer so memorable and fun! ![]() We can't believe this is our final blog post of the summer! On Monday, G7 enjoyed an awesome bonus field trip to SkyZone. Campers enjoyed playing dodgeball and doing cool tricks and flips. This was definitely one of our favorite trips of the summer! Tuesday was another great day for G7. Campers enjoyed their final trips down the waterslide of the summer. In the afternoon, many of our campers also played in the Campers vs. Counselors basketball game! Although the campers lost, we were very proud of our participants and thought they did an awesome job! Campers had a unique lunch on Wednesday. The majority of our campers went on a trip to Par 97 in Georgetown for a chicken finger lunch. Campers enjoyed their food while watching The Lorax on the restaurant's big screen. Some of our campers also received awards on Wednesday during the camp's annual award ceremony. We are very proud of all of our campers, and we were excited to be able to acknowledge some of them during the ceremony. Thursday was another awesome day for G7 with a trip to the beach! While many campers spent their time down at the water, a large group created an epic sand castle. Not only was the castle huge, but it also had a tunnel! We loved the campers' creativity and had a great day. We are sad to see the summer end because we had such a blast with G7 this year! We wish our campers all the best in the upcoming school year and hope to see them all next year as CITs! ![]() Week 7 brought many great things for the 6B TMNT! We opened up the week with a bonus field trip to SkyZone in Everett, MA. At Skyzone, the kids enjoyed jumping around on the various types of trampolines as well as playing dodgeball against other campers and the counselors! Once we got back from the field trip the campers got to attend a special reptile presentation where they learned about turtles, lizards, snakes, and alligators, to name a few. They even got a chance to hold the gator at the end if they wanted. The kids enjoyed giving counselor Ryan a hard time after they recently discovered his fear of animals. On Tuesday, the campers had a pretty regular camp day with the exception of the Counselors vs. Campers basketball game in the afternoon. After a long fought battle against the counselors, the campers hit a last second buzzer-beater to bring the game into overtime. Unfortunately for them, the counselors came out on top at the end of the overtime! Better luck next year! (HA!) The campers returned to Bagnall at night for the annual luau dance where all the campers got to enjoy great music and dance with all their other friends and counselors. Our own Chloe won the annual dance off after a long show down with G7's Lorenzo. On Wednesday, we had the annual GSRP awards ceremony where the campers received awards for the baseball tournaments and hockey tournaments, awards given by their counselors, and also awards given by the senior staff. To conclude the awards ceremony, Chloe brought home the director's award and she was more than thrilled to do so! On Thursday, the whole camp went to Crane's beach for the day. We had a lot of fun and the campers didn't disappoint, making sure that every counselor was dripping wet by the end of the day! Some campers discovered a horseshoe crab and made sure that it was safely back in the water. We had another successful day and hopefully no one got too sunburned! Tody is our last day of camp! :( Amanda and Ryan would like to thank you very much for sending your kids to camp this year! We enjoyed having them in our group as much as they loved coming to camp! We want to wish everyone a great rest of the summer, a great school year, and we will hopefully see you back here next summer! ![]() It is new week 7 of camp, and Jeremy and Jenna are very sad to see it end. This week has been especially exciting for GSRP seeing as we had 2 field trips. On Monday, we were very fortunate to go to SkyZone. G5 had a great time doing all sorts of flips and tricks and playing dodgeball on the trampolines. Hopefully next summer we will be able to go back. Also, we were very excited to have the reptile show. we saw and learned all kinds of interesting things about snakes, alligators, tortoises, and more! Anyway, back at camp we have been keeping very busy this week. On Tusday, we had the Luau where all the kids came and enjoyed dancing to the music and buying lots of candy of course. Sydney taught us how to do the dougie, and we all had fun watching the kids dance and have a good time. Thursday, we went to the beach and had so much fun playing in the sand, building sand castles. We also enjoyed dumping water on all the counselors and swimming in the ocean. We are also looking forward to the Talent Show this morning, and a few kids will be performing; good luck to you guys! Overall, the summer of 2014 has been a very memorable one, and we wish the best to all the campers in the upcoming school year. Hope to see you next summer! ![]() These last few days have certainly been busy and action-packed for G3A! On Thursday, we took our longest trip of the year to Santa’s Village in Jefferson, NH. The kids loved the coach bus rides there and back, enjoying the movies Ice Age, Ice Age Dawn of the Dinosaurs, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2, and Shrek. At Santa’s Village we survived the on and off rain, enjoying as many rides as we could get on. On Friday, we went to the Haverhill pool and enjoyed watching the hockey championship game. Week 7 has gotten off to a roaring start. On Monday, we enjoyed our final pool trip, a place that has been great this summer for beating the hot days. After the pool, we were treated to the Rainforest Reptile Show. We saw a tortoise, a lizard, a big boa constrictor, and even an alligator! Although many of the counselors were terrified, the kids loved the show and even got to hold the animals! On Tuesday, we took our bonus trip to Lego Land at Assembly Row in Somerville. The kids saw some awesome Lego creations and enjoyed some interactive activities. After that, the kids watched the annual counselor vs. campers basketball game. The counselors, including Sarah and Cam, narrowly beat the 6th and 7th graders 30-28. It was a great time for everyone. Wednesday included our annual award ceremony, where kids received awards for things such as Kindness, Participation, and Sportsmanship. Unfortunately there just isn’t enough awards for everyone, but we think they all deserved one! Thursday brings our awesome Crane’s Beach, all-day field trip. Make sure the kids wear their 2014 GSRP t-shirts, bring water, snack, and lunch, and any beach toys they can carry themselves. Crane’s Beach doesn’t allow boogie boards or floatation devices so make sure they don’t bring any. Also have the kids have their first coat of sunscreen applied before they come to camp, and make sure they bring extra! Friday brings the final day of camp, the talent show, and our annual cookout. The kids don’t need to bring a lunch on Friday, just snack and water. Also make sure if they are performing in the show that they come with everything they need, including music. We have really enjoyed being the G3A counselors this year. We had a lot of fun playing dodge ball, Four-Square, and soccer to name a few. Everyone always brought smiles to our faces, and they were all joys to be around. We wish them the best in school this year and really hope to see them all next summer! Have a nice remainder of your summers! As you know, our last day is this Friday, August 8th. The annual talent show will take place in the morning. A catered lunch will be provided to everyone at no charge. We are welcoming Fat Belly BBQ from Georgetown as our caterer this year! The menu will include grilled cheese, cheeseburger, macaroni & cheese, and corn on the cob. Children should still bring a water bottle and snack but do not need a lunch on Friday. Dismissal will take place at the regular time of 3:30pm and there is extended dayon Friday until 5:30pm as usual.
