![]() It's hard to believe that its already week six. Last week was very busy with the baseball tournament, swimming, and our field trip to Strawbery Banke and Amesbury Sports Park. At Strawbery Banke, each grade split into smaller groups, so exploring the different houses wasn't as difficult as you might think. We learned a lot about what life was like during different periods in time. We were able to talk to people who dressed and acted as if they were living centuries ago! We went to Amesbury Sports Park after leaving Strawbery Banke. While we were there, we ate pizza and went summer tubing. This week is the hockey tournament and semi-final games for grade 1-4 started yesterday. The championship is this afternoon! On Thursday, we are going on our biggest trip of the summer, the Mountain Trip. Our first graders will be going to Santa's Village in Jefferson, NH! On Friday, we have swimming at Haverhill High. Everyone in first grade is extremely excited to visit Santa's Village, and are even more excited by the thought of SEEING SANTA!!! ![]() We cannot believe there are only two weeks left of camp! The summer has been flying by, and G2 has been having a great time every week. This week, we have seen our largest group yet, and we're excited to have even bigger games and even more fun! On Thursday of last week, we went to Strawbery Banke Museum in Portsmouth. The children learned about the architecture, food, tools, and clothing that was used in the 1700s, 1800s and up through 1954. We walked through many historical houses, and the children were interested to see how differently people lived from year to year. After we left the Strawbery Banke Museum, we headed to Amesbury Sports Park for summer tubing. Some of our campers loved sliding down the hill while others enjoyed playing a game of soccer on the field. In the art room, Miss Brackett allowed our campers some free time to draw and make bead crafts. We also made minions from the movie Despicable Me using toilet paper rolls and paper. Our kids loved it! In the project enrichment room, we have been working on making I-spy bottles. The kids died rice all different colors and picked out little items to put in their bottles. Then the kids drew pictures of their items in a small booklet so they would remember what items to look for. This week we will finish up the I-spy bottles, and the children will take them home. Week six is going to be busy! We have our long field trip to Santa’s Village on Thursday along with our hockey tournament on both Wednesday and Friday. G2 is a great group, and we know that will continue for these next two weeks! Our Annual End of the Summer Dance Night will take place on Tuesday, August 5th from 6:30pm-9pm at Bagnall. ALL campers and CITs are invited, even if they are not registered for Week 7. Parents may stay for the event or drop your child off as all staff will be present. If you drop your child off, you must come inside to pick up your child at the end of the event.

We are looking forward to a great day! ![]() Last Friday, GSRP hosted the championship game of the baseball tournament. This year it was between Team Yah-Bo and the Bucks. Each team’s competitive spirit and desire to win made for a very exciting baseball game. Both teams had plenty of versatility and talent, however, after a 6th inning rally, the Bucks were able to pull out a win. Team Yah-Bo held the Bucks scoreless for the first 5 innings, and going into the top of the 6th, Yah-Bo led the Bucks 3-0. The Bucks would not go down without a fight, and in the top of the 6th, an outburst of hits spread throughout the Bucks' lineup and they scored 4 runs. Yah-Bo came very close to scoring the tying run in the bottom of the 6th, but the Bucks solid defense prevented the run from crossing home. Overall, everyone on the Bucks contributed to a great win, for a final score of 4-3. Although Yah-Bo did not win, they still played very well and they never gave up. At the end of the game, both sides showed the proper sportsmanship to one another when they exchanged high-fives and praise. All 6 innings were filled with exciting and well-played baseball, and we couldn't be happier with the results of the 2014 GSRP Baseball Tournament! Monday, July 28th:
