We cannot believe there are only two weeks left of camp! The summer has been flying by, and G2 has been having a great time every week. This week, we have seen our largest group yet, and we're excited to have even bigger games and even more fun! On Thursday of last week, we went to Strawbery Banke Museum in Portsmouth. The children learned about the architecture, food, tools, and clothing that was used in the 1700s, 1800s and up through 1954. We walked through many historical houses, and the children were interested to see how differently people lived from year to year. After we left the Strawbery Banke Museum, we headed to Amesbury Sports Park for summer tubing. Some of our campers loved sliding down the hill while others enjoyed playing a game of soccer on the field.
In the art room, Miss Brackett allowed our campers some free time to draw and make bead crafts. We also made minions from the movie Despicable Me using toilet paper rolls and paper. Our kids loved it! In the project enrichment room, we have been working on making I-spy bottles. The kids died rice all different colors and picked out little items to put in their bottles. Then the kids drew pictures of their items in a small booklet so they would remember what items to look for. This week we will finish up the I-spy bottles, and the children will take them home.
Week six is going to be busy! We have our long field trip to Santa’s Village on Thursday along with our hockey tournament on both Wednesday and Friday. G2 is a great group, and we know that will continue for these next two weeks!
