The rest of Week 6 was great! The campers really loved the field trip to Mount Cranmore and they were so well behaved! The chairlift and summer tubing was the groups favorite attractions at the mountain. There was a great view of the White Mountains when we got to the top of the chair lift. Lana Whitty told counselor Erica that she really enjoyed the coach buses that we got to ride up to Cranmore in! For most, it was the first time ever riding in a coach bus.
Week 7 is jam-packed with fun activities!! We are writing our blog on Monday because we have a surprise field trip on Tuesday! There is also a super fun dance party Tuesday night starting at 6:30pm! All the staff will be there, and we expect the campers to bring their best dance moves! The campers are able to bring money for drinks and some snacks.
The two Grade 1 groups are combined again this week because 1B counselor Allie is with group 2B. Today (Monday) we went swimming at the Haverhill High School pool. It was our last trip to the pool until next summer. The campers are sad about this, but they are excited about the rest of the week!
On Wednesday, there will be an Award Ceremony and all campers will be eligible to win an award for the following things: Kindness, Excellent Sportsmanship, Excellent Participation, and for being the most helpful. There is also the Director’s Award that is given to one camper from the whole camp. In order to win the Directors Award, the camper must have consistently displayed the following positive quality including sportsmanship, friendliness, and fairness. He/ she always participates in all of the group activities and is an overall positive/ happy child. There are so many campers that the Grade One counselors think deserve these awards but there can only be five winners.
Thursday is the annual Crane’s Beach Field Trip and that should be super fun! The campers should come in their bathing suits on Thursday so we can head right to the beach after drop-off. Remember lots of sunscreen and water! Every camper needs to bring a lunch for the beach! Ethan Caulfield and Jack Paige expressed extra enthusiasm when asked if they were excited to go to the beach! Friday is the last day of camp and there will be a cookout during camp! We hope all the campers are excited to go on the surprise field trip tomorrow! The last week here at GSRP will be packed with exciting and fun activities! All the counselors have really enjoyed working and playing with your children this summer and we hope they have a great school year! We hope to see them next summer for even more fun!
