Grade 1A had an amazing week last week combined with 1B! Since Allie is back, we have separated again! Our field trip last week was so much fun! Grade one really enjoyed the laser tag! Every time it was time to move on to the next activity, they always asked if we could play more laser tag! We had a great time playing on the ropes course and playing at the arcade! Grade 1A’s own Calan K won 770 tickets all on his own!
“I wasn’t even looking and I caught the shark, which is the key to open the treasure chest, which the700 coin jelly fish pops out and I got it!”
–Calan.
Monday was a very exciting day! Since Erica is not here, the campers knew they had to step up on their behavior and be extra good for Maddie! We started by going swimming at Haverhill High, which is always one of our favorite activities! When we got to the pool, Grades One and Two were a little rowdy from sitting on the bus and were ready to get into the pool! Unfortunately, when we got there, there was a catastrophe: The pool was not open yet! We lined up and waited for a while then we decided to play Simon Says to fill up our time! We had a lot of fun, then we were more than ready to go in the pool! Grades One and Two always enjoy our weekly jumping contest that Maddie judges! We are such a fun group to swim with at the pool, and they enjoy showing off their cool swimming moves! Ethan C. has really improved his swimming over these few weeks and now is becoming very good at swimming under water! He shows Maddie every week and she is so proud of how much he has improved!
When we got back from swimming, we had a Curious Creatures show! There were some pretty cool animals that were there! Reece F. told Maddie that her favorite creature she saw was the chinchilla! Starting on Tuesday it is Ethan’s birthday! When he walked in Maddie yelled to him “HAPPY BIRTHDAY ETHAN!!!!!!!” which then got all of the campers very excited, and we all sang happy birthday to him! He is very excited because on Thursday he is going to Water country!
At the beginning of the day, grade one found ourselves out back to play some games with Grade 4A. Nolan and Maddie played with the campers out back and made some “protein shakes” with some outdoor ingredients. Josh DaSilva and Luke Hartley were both very excited about making this concoction and were very good at helping the fourth graders! We have a very exciting week ahead of us! On Wednesday we have our weekly hot lunch, and the hockey tournament semi-finals! Grade 1A was not very interested in playing, but might enjoy watching a little bit more! On Thursday, we have our yearly trip to the White Mountains! We are going to Cranmore this year and 1A is very excited about it! We will not be back from this field trip until much later on Thursday evening.
Friday we have ice cream cart, hockey tournament finals, and THEME DAY! This week’s theme is sports! Everyone should come to camp Friday representing their favorite sport! Lana told Maddie that she is going to dress like a soccer player and she is beyond excited for it! Grade 1A has grown so much throughout these weeks, and Maddie and Erica are beyond proud of how well the campers are doing! They are great listeners and very polite all of the time! They have really adapted to the life at summer camp and Maddie and Erica are really enjoying this group of campers! We have had a great five weeks, and we hope that the positive attitudes continue on through the rest of week six and week seven!
