Only two more weeks left of summer camp! Unfortunately, we had to say goodbye to our substitute counselor, Ryan C. We would like to thank him for such a great week! Last week we went to Merrimack Valley Pavilion, where our kids were able to do a variety of activities. The arcade seemed to be the most popular, and they loved picking out prizes! The cookie dough ice cream was also a huge hit! In the project room, we made tin foil towns and built houses, pools, people, animals, and more. In the art room, Ms. Stevens joined us to help make tie dye t-shirts. We want everyone at camp to be wearing their tie dye shirts on Tuesday!
This Monday, we enjoyed another morning cooling off at the Haverhill High School pool. In the afternoon, we had a special animal presentation for all grades from Curious Creatures. Almost all of the kids were brave enough to touch the snakes, lizard, and alligator! They also asked some great questions about the animals. Hot lunch money will be due no later than Tuesday this week. Hot lunch will take place on Wednesday, and Chinese food will be served. The ice cream cart is also open on Tuesday, and ice cream will be sold for $1-3 as usual. The hockey tournament also starts this week. The boys from our group including Teddy, Damon, Jack, Luke, and Adam wanted to participate. The semi-finals will take place on Wednesday, followed by the championship game on Friday. On Thursday, we will be heading to Mount Cranmore for our longest field trip of the summer. Please make sure to pack extra snacks, sun block, and anything else your child will need...and of course we will wear our camp shirts!
The theme day this week is sports day and will be held on Friday. This is a very busy week and includes a lot of fun! It is especially important on weeks like these to keep our children safe and having fun. The behavior from our group continues to be exceptional and Ben and Allie could not be happier. Of course, we have to give a huge shout-out to our CITs, Camryn Cuoco and Jocelyn Flynn, who help us so much every day. We cannot believe next week is the last week of camp already. :( We have to take advantage of every moment we have left!
