It’s hard to believe that this summer is already almost over! The time has really flown by here in G3, especially in these last couple of weeks. We went on our mountain trip to Cranmore, which was probably our coolest field trip so far! There was mining, summer tubing, and all kinds of fun things to jump on and climb. We ended the day with a nice relaxing ride on the ski lift up to the top of the mountain, which had a beautiful view. The day was especially fun thanks to the excellent behavior of the third grade. It was a really great day!
With swimming on Monday and our bonus field trip on Tuesday, this week has already been pretty busy. Joe’s Playland was such a great rainy day activity. We played tons of games and ate some yummy beach pizza. Everyone left with lots of cool prizes – Molly L. and Adam L. both won over 1000 tickets and got giant blowup dolphins that were super cool. Everyone left with something fun.
Today, we have our awards ceremony, where some very deserving campers are going to win some awards. It’s too bad that we can’t give all the campers an award. We love having them all and camp wouldn’t be the same without any of them. But it will still be fun to watch which ones of our friends get recognized in front of the whole camp! We also had our last theme day today. Mismatch day was a very fun last theme to have! There were lots of fun mismatched socks and shoes. Delaney M. even had mismatched hair! Theme days have been a really fun part of summer camp and we will definitely miss them the rest of the year.
It was also such a blast to see most of our group at the dance last night! There was a raffle for a Toys R Us gift card, plenty of sugary snacks, and lots of dancing! All summer, third grade has loved the song “Honey I’m Good” and to do “the whip”, so we were very excited when they played both of those songs. A special shout out to Kevin B. for his crazy awesome dance moves!
We still have a lot of exciting things to look forward to the last two days of camp. We have our beach day, talent show, and barbeque that will all be tons of fun. I’m sure everyone will be sad to say goodbye to the friends that they don’t go to school with. Hopefully we will see everyone back at camp next year. I know all our third graders will have an awesome school year and do great things!
