It is only Wednesday, and it has already been an eventful week. Monday, we spent nearly half the day at the Haverhill pool. Third grade had their day for the two hour block at the pool. There was lots of friendly competition at the pool. At the diving board, we had several trick competitions which included points for both form and splash radius. In the end, we completed tricks such as best pencil dive, farthest jump, smallest splash, craziest jump, biggest cannonball, and highest jump. We even did a few swimming relays. Counselor Cam, Adam R., and Cole’s team won the very first round and winners from 3B followed. Overall, the water was a little chilly, but it was a perfect way to get out of the heat and a great day at the pool.
On Tuesday, we took to the road for Salem Willows. The arcade games are always a big hit. Within minutes, many of our campers hit the jackpot on the games. Adam Rob won 1,000 tickets on one game alone. CIT, Chris Proto also won big on the games. Our very own Calvin Desharnais won a Webkinz Frog out of a crane game. By the end of our trip, GSRP cleaned out the prize counter. Hopefully, your camper showed you their prize.
Today, we stuck out a block in the rain. GSRP is outside as long as it isn’t thundering or lightning, so make sure they have those rain jackets. Just as we walked outside it began to pour and as soon as we left the rain stopped; just out luck! We made the most of it playing hockey, Four Square, and a bit of puddle jumping. We hope the rain will hold off for our last block outside, but only time will tell.
Tomorrow come prepared and ready for some whale watching! We are just as excited as your campers for the trip. Let’s cross our fingers and hope no one gets seasick!
