Week 6 was certainly a busy one for G4B! On Monday, we had our annual swimming session at the Haverhill Pool, where we enjoyed tossing the volleyball around and doing the newest dance craze, “The Whip”, off the diving board. We came back from the pool to a special treat as Curious Creatures awaited us. We met a ton of cool animals, including a flying squirrel, a chinchilla, an alligator, two big snakes, and even a tarantula! The kids loved interacting with the friendly animals. On Tuesday the hockey tournament started and the teams went off to practice. We loved the participation from the 4B All-Stars! Other than the tournament, Tuesday and Wednesday were normal days, full of knock-out, dodgeball, wall-ball, and plenty of card games!
Thursday brought us our big field trip of the year. The crew packed up plenty of snacks and energy as we headed off to Cranmore Mountain for a day of fun! After the long coach bus ride, we arrived and the excitement began. We started with the Alpine Coaster, where we loved riding down the mountain and viewing our pictures at the end! Next we headed to the Screaming Eagle zip line and enjoyed the wind in our faces as we flew down the ride! After a quick lunch break, 4B headed to the chairlifts and enjoyed the scenic 5 minute ride up the mountain. Up top we posed for a group picture and plenty of selfies with the breathtaking mountain backdrop. The kids really did love the sights! A few more rides, including a bouncy house, some summer tubing, and even some gem mining, and then we were headed back to Groveland. The sleepy kids on the bus ride home told us that they had an awesome day and were worn out from all the fun.
Friday brought the hockey tournament championship, where our own CIT Nolan O’Neil and camper Adam Robinson took home the crown in a great game! We even got to go outside and watch for a little while, which the kids loved. Next week in our final week of the year. We are looking forward to two field trips, a cookout, awards, and the talent show! We are planning on ending summer camp with loads of fun!!!
