Welcome to another exciting week here at GSRP! This week, we have a ton of fun activities planned to keep all these second grades content and occupied.
On Monday, G2 experienced one of the most magical days ever at GSRP! Magician Matt Roberts came in for a special show just for our campers, and the mystery behind his tricks left all of our campers speechless! G2’s own Max Coppola even got to go up on stage and assist Mr. Roberts in a trick, pulling out an egg from a completely empty bag and making it disappear again within seconds! And if that is not amazing, Matt Roberts showed all the kids that he could magically lift a table. Let’s just say, everyone had their eyes glued to the show, wondering just how Matt Roberts was able to perform such impossibilities. The magic of the day ceased to stop after the show, as G2’s own Ryan Caulfield made his very first basketball shot without any assistance! Counselors Scottie and Sabrina could not be prouder of his achievement.
Scottie and Sabrina are even prouder to watch all their campers grown throughout the summer! They are always amazed by these kids! Even during messy camp days, Scottie and Sabrina cannot complain when it comes to the campers’ ability to stay clean and help out!
In fact, Tuesday in project enrichment must have been one of the messiest, with flour and elastic bands all over the floor after our catapult craft! Marlena Desharnais really seemed to step it up when it came to clean up time, helping both counselors and project enrichment teacher, Ms. Lynch pick up the room. Evie Zappala even stunned Sabrina, Scottie, and Ms. Lynch this week by making one of the coolest popsicle stick catapult’s! All the other kids saw Evie’s design and immediately had to make it too!
Wednesday, all of the younger grades will be on their way to the Merrimac Valley Pavilion for some laser tag, ice cream, a game of mini-golf, and an adventurous ropes course. The kids have already started talking, or should we say screaming, about how excited they are to get in a game of laser tag! When asked what they are all most excited about, an eruption of “Ice cream!” and “Laser tag!” began to circulate around the computer lab! There is now no doubt that these second graders are going to enjoy this awesome field trip! With all the buzz centered around this trip, camp should seem dull in comparison, but nothing is ever a dull moment here at GSRP!
Overall, the creativity, energy, and respect of this group is astounding each and every day, and both Scottie and Sabrina look forward to a great end of the summer!
