Week 4 is one of the busiest weeks of the summer so far for GSRP, and it’s leaving all the campers buzzing with excitement.
Last week, we got to go to Splashtown in Saco, Maine. This was one of the best field trips of the summer; all the kids enjoyed a fun-filled day at the water park. All the kids were very well-behaved on this field trip which we really appreciate! However, one camper in particular, Colin W. stuck out during the field trip. As part of the trip, the group could split into two, each counselor taking no more than 8 children. When Colin was with Sabrina, he helped her gather all the kids so the group as a whole could move on to more rides. He was very helpful and well-behaved, and we really appreciate it, Colin!
On Friday of the third week, we got to do a gift card giveaway. All the kids were left on the edge of their seats, hoping for their number to be called. Our very own Colin W. and CIT Richard were lucky enough to go home with prizes.
This week, instead of just going on one field trip, we had a bonus field trip in addition to the usual one on Thursday. On Tuesday, we went to Salem Willows. On top of this trip, on Thursday we will be going to a whale watch in Newburyport, which should be very exciting as well. We also got to go swimming at Haverhill High School on Monday for 2 hours instead of the usual one hour.
With the passing of the half way mark of the summer, there’s a bittersweet feeling in camp, but there is still plenty of more time to make this summer more memorable then it already has been!
