On Thursday of week 5, G Fource spent the beginning of the day at Strawbery Banke Museum. Half of the group went with Jake, and the other half was with Maddie. We saw a lot of cool and historic houses along with some stores. Kids were reading information, asking questions, and trying on old English outfits; Jake even had a “selfie” in colonial clothing! Although it was a very interesting place to be, the real fun happened at Amesbury Sports Park. The kids had a great pizza and soda lunch, then some of them went and played soccer with Jake and other counselors, while others went summer tubing! They said it was one of their favorite things they’ve done all summer and wanted to keep going! On Friday the campers were still recovering from our crazy adventures the day before, so Friday was a very relaxed, low-key day.
G Fource hit the ground running Monday morning! We got to go to Project Enrichment and made marshmallow shooters and they loved it. We went outside and the kids got to test their shooters with beads and marshmallows; they got a lot of the stuff stuck on the roof! Then on Tuesday, they came straight into the cafeteria to find out what hockey team they were on and who their coaches were! Christian and Joe were lucky enough to get Maddie as their coach! During the first block on Monday, Maddie was coaching hockey while the campers went out front with Jake and played “fishy fishy cross my ocean”! Later, Maddie had a hockey game and the campers went with Jake to participate in water games and watch the hockey game that was being played out back! Maddie, Joe, and Christian lost the game 2-0, but were still in good spirits when they rejoined the group! The campers went to arts and crafts and used the melting beads and colored pictures for our Luau on Tuesday! Then we went and got ice cream with Ms. K! After that our great group, G Fource, went out to play a small game of knockout which eventually turned into an Ultimate Knockout game. Let’s just say the kids went all out!
