As week 5 came to an end, the grade 5 Swagalicious Penguins could not wait for what was to come in week 6. After an amazing baseball tournament, week 6 brought another favorite, which happened to be the hockey tournament. Most of Grade 5 was involved in the tournament, and they all seemed to become very competitive against their friends. Counselor Jenna was a coach of one team who happened to make it to the finals. Counselor Jeremy from grade 5 was a referee, having fun outside watching the kids battle out to see who would win.
While the hockey tournament was a big part of week 6, there was also the big trip of the year that grade 5 couldn’t wait to attend. While grades 1-3 got to take a ride up to Santa’s Village, grade 5 was taking their journey to Attitash Mountain, where they would be involved in all different kinds of rides and attractions. This is always the big trip of the year for GSRP. As the busses arrived at Attitash, there were smiles on all the campers’ faces instantly. Grade 5 went on all the rides throughout the mountain. The group favorite seemed to be the Alpine slide, where the kids were able to control their own speed going down the mountain in a little cart. Also, grade 5 was able to go on many different water slides. Even though the water up there was a little cold, nothing stopped the Swagalicious Penguins from going in. Another attraction known as the mountain coaster was another one of the group favorites. Like the alpine slide, the kids were able to control their speed, and every one of them wanted to do it again. As the day came to an end, many campers from grade 5 were able to show their rock climbing skills. Grade 5 camper, Victoria T., impressively climbed the rock wall with ease, which instantly made more campers want to join. As the week came to end, Grade 5 new that their next and final week was going to be a good one.
